My name is Sarah Banfield. I live in Northampton working as a graphic designer but I design and make items in my spare time, including the products on this website. I graduated in 2003 from Goldsmiths College Design Degree which had a focus on both design and production. I work on a small scale and, as each item I produce is handmade, no two items will be exactly alike. My interest in glass started with a visit to Venice where I was fascinated by the small glass animals available. I have now been lampworking (fusing glass rods in a flame) for the last two years. I source my glass from Murano in Venice, Italy. The fabric for my bags comes from Osaka, Japan, and the bamboo handles come from a fairtrade company in India.
